We believe in
- God almighty, maker of heaven and earth. Sovereign over all things. Holy, immutable, self-existent, omniscient, omnipotent, all glorious. Revealed in the three persons of the Godhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), distinct but not separate (Trinity). Jesus Christ is the co-eternal God the Son, who took on the nature of humanity in the incarnation, was born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross for the sins of all believers, and rose the third day victorious over death. Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the Father, reigning supreme.
- The sinfulness of man. We sin because we are sinners, and stand righteously condemned to hell for our sins. There is nothing we can do in and of ourselves to save ourselves.
- Justification is the sovereign grace of God, through faith (the gift of God, not of ourselves) and in Christ Jesus alone. Jesus was born, lived a perfect life, suffered and died for the sins of His people (all who trust in Him for salvation), died, was buried, rose on the third day, ascended on high to reign, and will return to gather His people at a time appointed by God (we cannot change it, but rather wait patiently and expectantly for Him).
- Jesus redeemed a people for Himself, and that all true churches are manifestations (visible appearances) of that universal church of God in Christ. All believers should be a member of a true God worshiping, Bible believing church, so they may collectively worship God and grow together in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. God commanded two ordinances for the church: baptism and the Lord's Supper, which must be administered according to His word.
- The Bible is (1) inerrant (no errors), (2) infallible (cannot fail in anything it addresses), (3) all given and inspired by God for the saints, (4) sole authority for all things in faith and practice (nothing is excluded, the Bible is the final authority for all believers).
- The Doctrines of Grace (the radical corruption of original sin, God's election unto salvation not based on the recipient, Christ's atonement is applied only to those who believe, the irresistibility of God's call unto salvation, God preserves His saints) and the Solas ("only" or "alone" in Latin) of the Reformation (we are saved by grace alone, we are saved through faith alone in Christ alone, to God alone be the glory, the Bible alone is the final authority for believers).
